Hey Everyone!

Okay so basicially some of you noticed ive sarted to write some harsh reviews, dont get mad ill explain.

Problem:
Okay so first off im not going to lie, half of the stuff that comes nto the Hip-Hop section of newgrounds is garbage. It may have potential but how long is it going to stay in that state of having potential till you get better and actually do something about it? (See what im saying?)

SOLUTION:
We all need to work together as a family and help eachother get better, ive helped like 30 peopl since ive signed up to this site (Maybe more) and that was all just in the last year or so.

Help people by giving them useful reviews on how they can improve their music. If you do it this way no one would care about votes and downvote because reviews are all that would count.

Heres an example:

Good Review:
Wow man, this was a really great song, i liked how you used the pizzicato everytime the kick it.
It really added an extra thump to the bass. Next try some lower octaves on the pizzicato so it sounds deeper.

Like its not enough we have half of Newgrounds hating on us LOL

If you think this is a good or bad idea post reply and also if you need some help just post here and i can find someone to help you if i dont help you myself.

well i just skimmed over the last 5 pages of your reviews, they were mostly 10/10s(with a few 9/10s) and you didnt seem harsh at all lol.

If people tell you your good, it is still appreciated and helpful, as it can give you a little more confidence and shows that atleast one person likes yourstuff. Of course, the more in depth reviews are way more helpful.

so of course its a great idea, and I hope more people take the time to say what they like and dislike about the piece...and if they really cant explain why or are just lazy, saying "this was pretty good" is nice as well.

It's the only way to review a song in my opinion.
Yeah, I always do it too, sometime I feel like I'm coming across as a complete asshole, but it's only to stop the bad reviews from going to their head when the music is only average. I find that I get a lot more out of it when I get detalied reviews, whereas when someone has a 10/10 and a "that was perfect!" I can't help thinking, "yeah right, stop talking out of your ass". It's only from these good reviews that I've developed my music skills so that I can pull off something half decent. Even if it's something small like, "yeah, that was good, but I think if you put a little bit of panning in, it'll make it sound so much cooler", compliments boost your morale, but honesty shows you that you're not perfect.
I'm in full support of this.

Completely agree with the reviews. The only thing I'd add is it's also annoying to watch your track catch 10 votes, end up at 2.5 rating with no reviews. If you think it's bad enough to 1 or 2 rate it, maybe you could spend 30 seconds to write "hated it, snare was too loud, you suck". Then again, alot of those 1 and 2 votes are beef votes it seems. Regardless, if I vote on a track, I always review. And if I don't review, I don't vote.

thats one of the reasons it is garbage and alot of cats on here are good but dont improve at all. end result all their shit starts to sound the same! because thats whats getting the good reviews right? tsk tsk tsk........giving people advice on this site would be the only thing that makes it worthwhile (other than collabs and such) problem is cats are just laaaaaaaaaaazy and just buddy review shit so they'll get buddy reviews which surprisingly happens on alot of sites like this......anyway i'd rather get a review like "This shit was garbage BECAUSE" other than those cats who use caps to much (you know who you are!) and just basically tell you nothing "YEAH SON THIS IS HOT KEEP IT UP!!!!11111" get outtttttta here! anyway good-on-ya for saying what should have been said on here awhile ago peace
